For our communities to be as healthy and safe as possible, we need to be more proactive in preventing problems from ever occurring. The Utah Prevention Coalition Association (UPCA) and the Utah Prevention Network (UPN) are dedicated to this endeavor. Our objective is to prevent underage substance use and associated behavioral and mental health problems before they occur.

OUR MISSION:
We are united in mobilizing communities to reduce substance use risk factors, increase protective factors and improve mental health by using evidence-based primary prevention strategies.

How do we do this?      

The most effective way to reduce problem behaviors in a community, is to get the whole community involved!
All across the state of Utah, prevention specialists are bringing representatives from various community sectors together to learn about the science of prevention, identify concerns and issues, and develop and implement strategic action plans to reduce and prevent substance use and other problems.
